Easter Offering 2024: As you can see, this incredible Abbey is without its roof, which was damaged in the 15th century when the bell tower collapsed. The grandeur of the Cistercian Abbey of St. Galgano is famous for its monastic activity that was dedicated to supporting pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land.
Agricultural and clerical activity also came to a halt in the 14th century following a violent famine in 1328 and a subsequent plague epidemic that mowed down the community.
In memory of St. Galgano and his deeds you will find, on the adjacent hill, the Hermitage of Montesiepi, which preserves a special relic: the Saint's famous sword in the rock that is still visible today. An inexplicable phenomenon that brings us back to the legend of King Arthur.
After the stop in San Galgano here you are ready for a new experience. This time we dedicate ourselves to the pleasures of the table by going to meet Silvano Mori, the Salumiere della Regina. On S.P. 157, at the height of Torniella, you will find this heaven on earth the work of a world-renowned pork butcher.
Silvano Mori is for all intents and purposes the official supplier to the Royal House of England (Windsor family at the registry office). If you go to London and do not have an invitation from King Charles to Buckingham Palace, you can still shop at Harold's and thus find the famous truffle salami or the famous wild boar mortadella.
Among roads of maritime pines and cypress trees, we return to LeVersegge Resort to take a sauna and stand by the pool enjoying the early sunshine.
